Jan S. Fredman

Founding Member / Managing Member

Beginning his career in October of 1984 with Edward D. Jones, Jan was ranked in the top 1% of 10,000 Jones brokers and worked there until August of 2004. He worked with UBS Financial Services until 2008 and then joined Erisa Plan Services, Inc. until January of 2010. In March 2010, Jan opened his own advisory firm, Crescent Financial Advisors. As the founding partner, Jan currently holds the official title of Chief Investment Officer.

During his tenure at Edward D. Jones, Jan successfully passed the series 7 general securities representative exam, the series 63 uniform securities agent state law exam as well as the series 65 uniform investment advisor law exam. Jan also holds a South Carolina Insurance producer license.

Originally from Sweden, Jan moved to the U.S. to accept a tennis scholarship at Nicholls State University where he earned a degree in Business Administration in 1983. Jan played tennis at Nicholls State University where he was an All American and later inducted into Nicholls State Hall of Fame.

Jan enjoys tennis, golf and spending time with his sons and friends. He loves the mountains along with zydeco, blues, and jazz music. His beloved schnauzer and “partner in crime,” Tibby, is typically by his side.

Lori M. Kelley AIF®

Partner / Chief Compliance Officer

A lifelong resident of Oconee County, Lori began her career in banking in 1995. She worked in all areas of retail banking with BB&T (now Truist) until 2006 when she facilitated a new branch opening for Community First Bank. Lori remained with First Community Bank until 2010 when she transitioned to the role of Chief Operations Officer for Carolina Wealth Management Group of Voya Financial Advisors, Inc. During her tenure with Carolina Wealth Management, Lori completed her series 7 general securities exam and the series 63 uniform securities agent state law exam and the series 65 uniform investment advisor law exam. Lori also holds a South Carolina Insurance producer license. Lori also holds an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) Designation.

Lori graduated magna cum laude from Southern Wesleyan University earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration and graduated with her master’s degree summa cum laude from Clemson University.

She joined Crescent Financial in 2016 and became a partner of the firm in 2019. Lori current holds the functional role of Chief Compliance Officer for the practice.

Lori loves the mountains and spending time on the water — be it a river, lake, or ocean. She enjoys traveling and is a dedicated attending Clemson Football and Baseball games. Her family and friends are the center of her life.

Erik S. Fredman

Registered Investment Advisor

Erik was raised in Oconee County and graduated from Clemson University earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Following graduation, Erik was interested in experiencing the life and culture of his father’s native Sweden. From 2017 to 2022, Erik worked for Tikkurila Sverige AB, as a lab technician. In 2022, he chose to move back to South Carolina to be closer to family and begin his career in the financial services industry with Crescent Financial.

Erik enjoys attending Clemson athletic events, playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends.

Angela Brown

Executive Assistant

Angie attended Tri-County Technical college. She worked at Blue Ridge Eye Center coordinating surgery schedules and patient relations. She joined Crescent Financial in 2018. Angie serves in all aspects of an executive assistant while also maintaining responsibility for audits, accounts payable, human resources, scheduling, and client relations.

Angie enjoys traveling, reading, painting, and spending time with family (especially her grandchildren) and friends.

Sarah M. Kelley ChFC®

Paraplanner

Sarah earned an associate degree from Tri-County Technical College while working in a variety of areas of business administration. She joined Crescent Financial in 2020. In 2023, she earned her bachelor’s degree in finance with a concentration in financial planning. In the spring of 2024, Sarah received her Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) Designation. Sarah is responsible for account opening and servicing, reconciliation of transfers, billing audits, recordkeeping, and client relations.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys quilting and crocheting.
